I made it to Colorado so far on my move and have just been hanging out in the mountains. I have two pictures from my whole trip so far. Both from waiting to go tasting at Breck distillery. Going up mountain passes with a fully packed car makes for a tired turbo.

Sadly, can't really help you ID on that first pic, other than to say it's missing trim (there's supposed to be a 5" slab below the doors), and to say it's '58-'67. I can't really make out the front turn signal, but suspect that may pin it down as being somewhere around '62-'64, as it doesn't look like Series II standard, and isn't the middle year early Series IIa standard. Also, looks like 15" wheels, base trim, and has RH exit exhaust (typical for RH drive).

Yes it is definitely left hand drive. Forgot that part of it

I believe I am working at a hotel. It sounded really promising on the phone and they just want to do a quick meeting. Should work out. If not, there are jobs all around that area.

Kinja is being a piece of shit as usual so I can't see Ramblinrovers full post but I'd hazard a guess that it's a Series II pickup and not a IIa. From the photo I can only see one indicator light up front but there could be a second light hiding behind it which would make it a IIa.

I think there's only one indicator light on the front fender. But it is a hard angle to see the second light if it's there.

Here's the first line of Series IIa with Brit-style front lights - 61 or so to ~65.
The easy tell between II and IIa is the valance between the front fenders/below the radiator (the little plate): ones like in this picture with a curve in them are IIa (61 on), ones like this...
...are the first of the new style, but can still be Series II. Early Series II looks like this:
As a side note, that one has plastic replacement lights which are cheaper than original, but make ID difficult. Somewhere around 65/66, they originally went to these lights:
These are toolless with a chrome ring, and came in amber versions for Europe and clear versions in the US. Headlights moved to the fenders for late 67/68, so that's an end point for when the one in your pic was made.

Welcome to the west! if you are carbureted, buy some smaller jets and play with them. When I moved from 550' to 6000' I had to go down 5 jet sizes to get my fuel/air ratio back to normal. That measurement was done on a dyno. No sense wasting money on fuel that you don't need.

Thanks! I love it.

I added to my post. Not sure if you saw the addition.

Yeah it's hard to tell without looking at the front apron however the I know that the 58's had only one indicator light up front Like the royal review series II.
Then again I think this 88 has a hodgepodge of series parts.

That would only pin it down, sadly, to pre IIRC '64, as I think it's a Brit and the signal lights were options in Brit-land until then.

Missed a detail editing something - meant to say it's the first of the two Series IIs that has replacement lights.

Are we sure the royal one isn't some kind of confused I/II bastard mix? Doesn't look to be able to fit standard rear OR front hub bearings, and it has a I-looking radiator plate and firewall/fenders.
As to single lights, that's a bit trickier, because some markets sold them only ever with added lights, but they remained an option in the UK until quite late.
I think the brewery one is a Brit, which makes it hard.

I figured either hiding light or (likely) Brit, in short.
I find it entertaining the extent to which we hijacked this post with light minutiae and nobody's even said a single word about the Bim.

t did. I will for sure look in to it. If I get new fuel injectors and a tune I may just need to go with a bigger turbo

Fuel injected? Are you open or closed loop. It does make a difference. Closed loop accommodates for altitude, Carbureted and open loop does not. What year is your BMW?

Oh no, that's not my 2002. just one that I saw at the distillery. I drive an 03 wrx

Yeah I think it's converted Brit. What really is confusing is that the front lights look square like NAS Series trucks.
I think the early II's had left over series I parts thrown in as I've seen a couple that look like mutant series I's.
Edit: Here's another II that kinda looks like a I.

lol yeah but the differences between the II and IIA always fascinated me.

Think I remember reading somewhere that its a 68 IIa out of NewZeland.

You're good then. Closed loop. It will adjust on it's own. Enjoy the Rockies. Come to NM some time.
